"Who is the Fit Dad and why does he think he can tell
me what to do?"
Well, first off, the Fit Dad is Ed Scow...which is me and I am he.
In addition to being the Fit Dad, I'm also a personal trainer, boot camp instructor, author and a
busy business owner.
The most important thing to know about me is that I'm a dad. I love being a dad and the
responsibilities it involves.
I love watching my daughter grow up and all the changes that happen in her life.
And I cringe when I think about the thought of her starting to date (which will NEVER happen), as
well as paying for college and surviving the teenage years.
I tell her often that all boys are evil and only have one thing on their minds, no matter the age,
and the only one you can trust is your daddy...she doesn't quite understand what I mean, but she will.
I've been a trainer/fat loss expert for around a decade and have been a massage therapist for about
the same amount of time...actually a little longer now that I think about it.
"Okay, so what the hell else is The Fit Dad all about?"
My story all starts when I was a short, skinny and scrawny 14 year old wanting to get bigger and stronger.
But then again, what guy at that age doesn't want to get bigger and stronger?
The moment I stepped into that old, rundown high school weight room, I knew I was in the right
place.
Not just because I knew I could accomplish what I was after (performing better in sports...and
looking better for the ladies - at least I'm honest!), but because I knew I found something that would challenge me
and constantly keep me learning and discovering new things. I was intrigued at the concept of coming up with
ways to challenge the body in order to get it to do what we wanted it to.
Fitness and workout design was something that came easy to me. Both because I had an
insatiable desire to learn about the human body and how it worked and because I wanted to see what I could do.
It was then that I opened my private personal training studio as a way for people to accomplish
their weight loss and fitness goals in a private training studio. I knew I hated the thought of working out
in giant health clubs and I knew there were a lot of other people out there just like me and I had to figure out a
way to cater to those people.
Don't get me wrong, I applied for jobs as a trainer and was offered many, but never accepted
because I didn't like the way the health club operated, treated their trainers, or the "meat market" mentality.
My goal when starting my business was to create a comfortable, private, non-intimidating atmosphere
where I could teach people how to learn to enjoy exercise and being healthy, while helping them accomplish their
goals.
Sorry for the shirtless picture, but thought it might help to know I'm not an idiot trainer!
I knew people didn't enjoy working out in big health clubs either because they were uncomfortable,
didn't feel like spending the money, or just wanted to workout from home and because of that, all he workout
programs I design can be done quickly from the comfort of your own home, or even while traveling. I strive to
make things as easy as possible for my clients to fit in their workouts and accomplish their goals.
That was over 6 years ago and I have never looked back (and just as an fyi, I've been a trainer and
massage therapist for over 10 years...so I'm no spring chicken).
To sum up...I love what I do and can't imagine doing anything else. I love my business, I
love my clients and will do just about anything to help them reach their goals.
I'm also an expert fitness author with ezinearticles.com and have had dozens of health and fitness
related articles published both in print and online. You can also find tons of fat loss and fitness
information on my blog that I update multiple times per week. My blog posts include lots of information
relating to fat loss, specific workouts, my own personal workouts, stress reduction, massage therapy and overall
health and fitness. Be sure to check out my blog, The Fit Dad Says by

That's me in a nutshell...
