Planks are awesome
exercises for strengthening and flattening your abs and core, while also increasing your core endurance and
helping strengthen your low back, but can get a bit boring...

I love Planks.
Scratch that. I love having my clients do Planks. Personally I hate them. I don't hate them because they don't
work - they work phenomenally well at strengthening and flattening your abs and core - I don't like them because
they're crazy boring.
It seems maddening to have to hold that damn position for upwards of 60-90 seconds. Is it great if you can
do it? Sure, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to do it, nor does it mean you SHOULD do it. I'm sure you
can withstand standing naked in the snow for 10-minutes, but that doesn't mean you should.
If you're like me, love doing Planks and understand their value at helping strengthen and flatten your abs and
core, while also being a great addition to a workout and weight loss program, then give
this video a watch.
We're going to go over a few different kinds of planks that work your
abs and core just a little differently. Sometimes that's all it takes - just a little tweak and twist here
and there - to keep you moving forward.
Different Kinds Of Planks
So how can you work any of those different kinds of planks into your workout program?
Easy...just switch 'em out.
Seriously.
There's no thinking involved. If your workout calls for a Plank, and you think it's boring, then use one
of the alternatives shown in the video, or give this Quick and Simple Core Workout Tip video a watch and try
it.
We're not re-inventing the wheel with these plank variations, which is why I'm being so cavalier in telling you
it doesn't matter how to incorporate them into your workout. Planks are planks and core endurance is core
endurance. That may be overly simplistic, but who cares.
If you want to add any of these different kinds of planks to one of your
workout programs, either designed by me or yourself, then give these other videos a watch...
