I'm going to share a story with you
that quite frankly, is a little embarrassing. Scratch
that...it's VERY embarrassing
because what I'm about to share should NEVER happen
to me.
I'm supposed
to be the fittest guy in the room. There should be
absolutely no question about my fitness level,
my physique, my strength or the way I feel because I'm a
personal trainer.
It all started innocently enough. My wife got up early one
Sunday morning while I snored lazily in bed. I could hear her
making some noise in the bathroom, then she hurriedly came back
to bed and said "I'm Pregnant!!"
At first I was shocked...I think my jaw hit the floor and my
eyes bugged out of my head, but then I started to feel pretty
good.
In fact, when Andrea told me she was
pregnant with our little girl, Maren, I was beyond happy.
I was overjoyed at the thought of being a dad.
But then the thoughts started to creep
in...

free time now, how am I going to find

"Holy crap! What the hell am I
going to do?!" |

"Is my business strong enough to
support a family?" |
The kind of questions that eat at you,
keep you up at night and gnaw at your
stomach.
I wanted to be the best dad I could, but
to tell you the truth it scared me...it really scared
me.
So I decided I needed to be even
busier than I already was in order to make
sure I made enough money to raise my new family. I was
already working an obscene amount of hours, but thought I
needed to do more.
Then in the Fall of that same year, my wife
and I were invited to a birthday party for a client. We
went and had a great time. Everybody ooh'd and ahh'd over
my very pregnant wife and talked about how wonderful it
is to have a family.
While we were eating and talking, someone
took our picture.
Fast forward a couple weeks and I got a copy
of that picture. I was shocked!

I couldn't believe how fat I had
gotten! My pants looked
way too tight, my shirt was a little tight
around my stomach and waist and you could see fat bulges
and my face looked "pudgy and bloated". Not only that,
but you could make out little man-boobs in the
shirt...not strong pecs like I was used to
having...boobs!
I'm a personal trainer! I'm not
supposed to look fat or bloated nor am I supposed to have
man-boobs!
Later that week, I went with my wife to her
final doctor's appointment before our daughter was
born.
After the nurse weighed her, I decided to
get on the scale.
I couldn't believe my eyes! The scale said
that I'd gained 22 pounds! I was the fattest I
had ever been. The worst part was that it had only taken
a 3 short months to gain all that
fat!
Then I started thinking about my life over
the previous couple months. First off, it was
stressful.
I also didn't have a lot of time to
devote to my workouts and I began to eat poorly...comfort
foods if you will.
But I was sickened. I couldn't believe that
I had gained that much ugly fat. It crept up on me and
now none of
my pants fit!
I had to come up with something very quickly
to get that ugly and
dangerous stomach fat
off.
I had
to come up with a fat loss program that would not only
get me in the best shape of my life, but I had to make
the workouts very, very short
because...
I wanted to be there for my wife and new
baby. I didn't want to have to spend hours in my training
studio hitting the weights or hours on the treadmill
doing cardio in an effort to lose my gut.
Plus I had to come up with a program I could do
from home because I knew there were going to
be days it would be impossible to be away from the
house.
I love my training studio, but I'm not a fan of commercial
gyms. I think they're a waste of time and
money.
To say that what I came up with worked is an understatement
because...
I lost over 5 1/2 inches off my
waist in less than 7 weeks. I only lost 10
pounds though, which meant that while I was losing fat I gained
muscle.

You've probably been told that it's impossible to gain muscle
and lose fat at the same time, but that's a
myth.
I'm
living proof it's possible to lose fat and gain muscle at
the same time.
My shoulders got bigger, my upper back got bigger and stronger,
my chest was strong and lean (no more man-boobs!) and my
waist shrunk to
an enviable, "make ladies' mouths water" 30.5 inches while
weighing in at 178 pounds!
I had never been in better shape! Sure my waist had been that
small before, but I was a skinny, weak high school
kid.
I know what you might be thinking. 10 pounds and 5 1/2 inches
isn't that big of a deal when you may have 20, 30, or more
pounds to lose. I understand your disbelief or frustration, but
you have to understand something. I'm a fitness professional.
I'm supposed to be the fittest guy in the room at all times.
This type of thing shouldn't happen to me.
I was in OK shape before I came up with this program,
then I got fat and pudgy, then I got in the best
shape of my life after I came up with this workout

...and all I changed was my
workouts.
I started working out less and got amazing

personal trainer and massage therapist with a
very busy business.
