Workouts don't need to be a long, drawn out affair. Actually, they shouldn't be that long for a myriad of
reasons I won't get into here, and this is especially true for us parents.
In my experience, both in my own personal workouts and the countless weight loss programs I've designed for
clients, the best and most efficient workouts are short, simple and easy to follow.
You're much more likely to stick to a shorter workout, especially if you don't have to go to a gym to complete
the thing!
Here's a quick and simple bodyweight cardio workout that
will only take you 10 minutes to complete...
Weight Loss Cardio Workout Video
So what do you think? Can you incorporate any of bodyweight cardio workout into your
own weight loss program?
Of course you can! Give it a try a few times per week and be amazed at the results! You'll
be stronger, leaner and your body will thank you.
A couple pointers before you begin - first, make sure you warm-up before this bodyweight workout.
Warming up not only gets your fat burning engine revved, it also warms up the muscles and joints to prevent
injury and the older you get, the more important this is. Take it from this 33-year old dad - warming
up should NEVER be skipped.
Next, make sure you focus on your abs during the entire
bodyweight cardio workout. Keep your abs "In and tight" no matter if you're doing an
"abs exercise" or not. Focusing and paying attention to your abs, and actually training them to stay "tight,"
rather than letting it hang.
I routinely tell clients in my studio to "keep your abs in and tight" and it's amazing the change that
happens instantly. Don't push your stomach out, brace it and keep it in. Focus on the abs and
core.
Last, but certainly not least, and this should go without saying, but make sure you bust your butt while doing
the workout. The bodyweight cardio
workout only lasts 10-minutes, and it will work, but you must bust your butt and make every minute count.
Work as hard as you can and you will absolutely see results. Only put in a fraction of the effort you know
you can put in, and you'll only get a fraction of the result.
You can make this workout effective if you work it. So make sure you warm-up, keep your abs in and tight
and then bust your butt the entire 10-minute bodyweight cardio workout and watch the fat fall off!
